According to the current legislation, all citizens in need of prosthetic and orthopedic products and technical means of rehabilitation are entitled to free prosthetics; for this, it is necessary to have an individual rehabilitation program (IRP).

Prosthetic products are made of light and durable materials, and modern components allow you to master the prosthesis in a short time, i.e. learn to walk again.

We have an individual walking school, under the guidance of professional rehabilitation specialists you will learn to walk and lead an independent lifestyle. You will learn to walk without additional supports, crutches and canes.

There is no exact answer to this question as each patient is unique. The duration of the development of the prosthesis depends on the type of prosthesis, the general physiological and mental state of the patient, the level of amputation, height, weight and age.

But according to statistics: the development of a shin prosthesis takes from one week to a month, and the development of a hip prosthesis takes two weeks or more.

This largely depends on the characteristics of the patient, and how the rehabilitation process proceeds. Modern lower extremity prostheses recreate the shape and appearance of a healthy leg extremity. The lower the level of amputation, the easier it is to master the prosthesis and return to a natural physical gait.

With a high level of amputation, the gait and posture will be very different from natural, especially at the initial stage, but after mastering the prosthesis, the gait becomes as close to natural as possible.

During prosthetics, the patient may experience pain in the stump, especially during the first time after amputation, while postsurgical wounds heal and sutures are tightened. Such pains are partially or completely removed by the use of standard painkillers for these cases.

Also, after amputation, patients are often accompanied by phantom pain - pain in the lost extremity, which complicates the process of prosthetics.

The use of special covers for the limb stump helps to reduce or completely get rid of phantom pain, however, each case is still individual.
